Hillmanns 42

THE HILLMANNS OF BROOKLYN

CHAPTER 42

1930

Fire Island and Lake Ronkonkoma

Marian and Ken. Remember a few albums back? I think he looks like a real He Man. He looks like he can do handstands on the beach. He's got me thinking Ken and Barbie.

They are on the ferry.

Swimming in the Sound

We have left Fire Island and are now at Lake Ronkonkoma.  I think we traveled through time too, because it looks colder.

But the brave swim in the cold.

Marian and Ray

Marian, Chet, Unknown, Ray and Helen

Al Hearn, I presume

Marian has labeled the next three pictures as being taken at the "Bread Channel".  I haven't been able to figure out what the Bread Channel is.

The chocolate chip cookie was invented in 1930.  Can imagine a world with no chocolate chip cookie?  I never thought about that before.

We're spending Columbus Day Weekend in Connecticut with Claire, Irma, Chet and Beth

Apparently, this is where they stayed.

Hillmanns albums come out on Tuesday, next week we join Rose and Herman on their trip to Washington DC and Kentucky.
